چکیده

We consider the steady case of a nonlinear model for a thermoelastic beam that can enter in contact with obstacles. We first prove the well-posedness of this problem. Next, we propose a finite element discretization and perform the a priori and a posteriori analysis of the discrete problem. Some numerical experiments confirm the interest of this approach. 1 Laboratoire Jacques-Louis Lions, C.N.R.S. & Université Pierre et Marie Curie, B.C. 187, 4 place Jussieu, 75252 Paris Cedex 05, France. 3 LANA, Departamento de Matemática, Universidade Federal de Santa Maria, 97105-900, Santa Maria, RS Brasil. e-mail addresses: [email protected], [email protected], [email protected] ha l-0 08 27 53 1, v er si on 1 29 M ay 2 01 3

A Boundary Elements and Particular Integrals Implementation for Thermoelastic Stress Analysis

A formulation and an implementation of two-dimensional Boundary Element Method (BEM) analysis for steady state, uncoupled thermoelastic problems is presented. This approach differs from other treatments of thermal loads in BEM analysis in which the domain integrals due to the thermal gradients are to be incorporated in the analysis via particular-integrals. Thus unlike Finite Elements or Field ...

Spectrally formulated finite element for vibration analysis of an Euler-Bernoulli beam on Pasternak foundation

In this article, vibration analysis of an Euler-Bernoulli beam resting on a Pasternak-type foundation is studied. The governing equation is solved by using a spectral finite element model (SFEM). The solution involves calculating wave and time responses of the beam. The Fast Fourier Transform function is used for temporal discretization of the governing partial differential equation into a se...

Effect of thermoelastic damping in nonlinear beam model of MEMS resonators by differential quadrature method

This paper presents a nonlinear model of a clamped-clamped microbeam actuated by an electrostatic load with stretching and thermoelastic effects. The frequency of free vibration is calculated by discretization based on the Differential Quadrature (DQ) Method. The frequency is a complex value due to the thermoelastic effect that dissipates energy. By separating the real and imaginary parts of fr...

Thermoelastic Damping in Vibrating Beam Accelerometer: a New Thermoelastic Finite Element Approach

In order to respond to the demand of accurate miniature inertial navigation systems, ONERA has been working on the design of a vibrating beam accelerometer called the Vibrating Inertial Accelerometer (VIA). The accuracy of the VIA is directly related to the thermoelastic quality factor of its sensitive element, which is a beam made of quartz. In this work, thermopiezoelectric finite element ana...

Nonlinear Finite Element Analysis of Thermoelastic Stresses of FGM Rotating Disk Considering Temperature-Dependency of Material Properties

In the present paper, nonlinear radial and hoop thermoelastic stresses analysis of a disk made of FGMs material is investigated. According to this purpose, finite element method is used. In the present method, second-order one-dimensional element (with three node points) is proposed. The geometrical and stress boundary conditions are defined in the state of non-existence of external pressure an...
